OmegleNet

Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

OmegleNet doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. We store a few small items in your browser that the service needs to work, and we use a bot-protection check. This page lists all of them.

"Cookies" here also covers similar technologies like localStorage and sessionStorage, which the law treats the same way.

1. Items OmegleNet stores on your device

All of these are strictly necessary or functional items you asked for, so we don't need your consent for them. They're set on OmegleNet's own domain and never sent to third parties.

NameTypeWhat it's forWhat it containsHow long
omegle.deviceIdlocalStorageIdentifies your browser to our server without an account, so we can run your session and enforce bansA random ID (UUID) created by your browserUntil you clear site data or use "Delete my data"

omegle.audioNoticeVersionlocalStorageRemembers that you've seen the notice shown before your first voice chatA version markerUntil you clear site data or the notice changes

Moderators using the admin console also have a sessionStorage item (omegle.adminKey) holding their session. It's deleted when the tab closes.

2. Security cookies set by Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare to protect OmegleNet from attacks. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies such as __cf_bm (bot management, 30 minutes) and cf_clearance (records that your browser passed a security challenge, up to 30 minutes). They don't track you across other websites. See Cloudflare's cookie documentation.

3. Bot protection

When you start a chat or send a report, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to check you're not a bot. Turnstile is loaded from Cloudflare's servers (challenges.cloudflare.com) and looks at your IP address and technical signals from your browser, such as its type and settings. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies and isn't used to follow you across websites. Cloudflare processes this under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

  • Turnstile is only used while we have bot protection switched on, and it's loaded only when you press a button to start a chat or send a report, never just for visiting the site.
  • Usually it runs invisibly. If Cloudflare can't tell you're human, it shows a small checkbox.

4. Things we don't use

  • No advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social-media plugins.
  • No analytics cookies.
  • Fonts are served from our own servers, so loading a page doesn't contact Google Fonts.

5. How to control or delete these items

  • Delete my data on the Privacy page removes all omegle.* items and deletes the data on our server linked to your device.
  • You can also clear site data in your browser settings. If you do, you'll get a new device ID.
  • If you block localStorage, OmegleNet can't create a session, and you won't be able to chat.
